The National Minimum Wage (NMW) is more than just a pay rate, it’s a calculation. Many employers accidentally get it wrong, 518 employers were recently named by Department for Business and Trade (DBT) with £7.4 million arrears paid back to workers.

We work for HMRC and are responsible for enforcing NMW legislation on behalf of the DBT. Our NMW teams ensure that workers who are entitled to the Minimum Wage receive it. NMW enforcement is unique within HMRC as it involves the enforcement of employment legislation, rather than tax.
We have front line caseworkers looking at small, medium and large businesses, Risking and Triage teams, Operational Advisory services, promoting compliance teams and many more roles.
